Josh Meade grew up in Southbury, CT and graduated from Pomperaug High School in 2004. 
 
He then attended Western Connecticut State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. 
 
After college he dove right into the world of public school teaching where he landed his first job as a long term music sub teaching general music and chorus in the Fairfield Public School District.

Following that position he accepted a position teaching general music, chorus, and band in the Danbury Public School system and stayed at the elementary level for the next four years. 

He then accepted a new position at Westside Middle School Academy in the Danbury Public School System teaching Music Technology, Chorus, and the Music Director for the schools musicals. (Aladdin Jr., Bye Bye Birdie Jr., Cinderella Jr.) He was there for three years.

When the music world seemed to stop overnight ,because of the worldwide pandemic; he jumped back in to the public school world and accepted a one year position in the Weston public schools and then another in Farmington Public schools the following year.

Performance Bio

While at WCSU he performed with the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Brass, Jazz Combo, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra and Choir. 

 

He played Lead Trumpet with the WCSU Jazz Orchestra and was able to share the stage with Slide Hampton, Paquito D'Rivera, Dafnis Prieto, and Jeff Hellmer each year at the WCSU Jazz Festival. 

 

Currently, Josh Meade is an in demand performer with pit orchestras around the tri state area. 

 

In addition he leads his own brass quintet called the Black Rock Brass Quintet and plays lead trumpet in the Liddle Big Band out of Torrington, CT. 

 

Josh Meade has taught private lessons over the past twelve years  and currently runs a private studio of about 30 students weekly over the state of CT.
